2008 Festival about to get underway
Thursday, 31 July 2008
Only one more day to go before Lake District Summer Music's 2008 international music festival begins.
The Festival opens with a golden celebration of English music for strings by The Goldberg Ensemble, at The Coronation Hall, Ulverston tomorrow, Friday 1 August at 8pm.
Today, the LDSM team will be relocating from their Kendal offices to the campus at the University of Cumbria, Ambleside, as they do every year. LDSM will operate from their base in Ambleside for the duration of the 17 day festival. The usual telephone numbers and email addresses will not change and you can still get hold of the box office on 08456 44 21 44, or book online, click here.
The Team will be welcoming artists and Summer School students and tutors, making sure they find their accommodation easily and getting everybody settled in. There will, we're sure, be quite a few nervous musicians, students, new LDSM volunteers and staff as they make their final preparations, so we wish everybody good luck, and an excellent 2008 Festival.
For those visiting and viewing concerts, we hope that you enjoy your time in the Lake District and that your chosen events are enjoyable and fulfilling.
