Support
Lake District Summer Music's summer school programme benefits over 140 students from 21 countries every single year. LDSM's events bring the highest quality performances to this inspiring landscape performing to over 10,000 people every year. But none of this could happen without the financial support of individuals like you!
Set against the alluring backdrop of the magnificent English Lake District LDSM has now been operating since 1985. The unique way in which our International Festival and Summer School are integrated makes LDSM one of the great training grounds for young musicians, be they beginners or young professionals.
More recently, LDSM has developed its work beyond the August Festival and Summer Schools. Our Music from a Foreign Land programme and 4x4 Composer Residency present unique cultural experiences and the highest quality training.
In recent years, LDSM has been generously supported by Arts Council England. We also generate more earned income than other similar organisations. However, that still leaves us having to raise over £100,000 each year in order to support the quality of programme LDSM is delivering.
Ways in which you can help include:
Sponsor a concert or become a Principal Sponsor of LDSM
Support the costs of bringing together the very best resident artists for our International Festival & Academy
Provide a bursary to a student to enable them to attend our International Summer Music Academy or Young String Venture
Help support some of the major logistical costs of mounting an artistic programme like LDSM.
Establish a collection in our student chamber music library in your name or that of a loved one
Join our Patrons of LDSM Society
Leave LDSM a legacy which could help sustain our work with young musicians for years to come
Any support, small or large, is very gratefully received.
What's more, new funds we secure will be matched as part of a new fundraising challenge providing double the benefit to our work.
So if you are donor or sponsor click on the menu or links above and we would be happy to provide further information.
